Isaac Dasmani (PhD), the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD) Mr. Emmanuel Gyan, the Presiding Member Hon. Francis Asmah, Hon. Isaac Dasmani present to the House on the progress of developmental projects\/programmes and major activities that have been pursued by the Assembly during the First Quarter of the year. He highlighted on some key<br>issues which includes, Security, Education, Health, Water and Sanitation, Agriculture among others which requires attention and some instance endorsement and Report from sub-committees which was separately discussed in the Executive Committee\u2019s Report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/phma.gov.gh\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/IMG_20230524_121251_566-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3153\" srcset=\"https:\/\/phma.gov.gh\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/IMG_20230524_121251_566-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/phma.gov.gh\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/IMG_20230524_121251_566-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/phma.gov.gh\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/IMG_20230524_121251_566-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/phma.gov.gh\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/IMG_20230524_121251_566-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/phma.gov.gh\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/IMG_20230524_121251_566-2048x1536.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On security, he commended MUSEC and all the security agencies, Nananom and Hon. Assembly Members for the good work done to ensure a relatively calm and peace in the Municipality during the period under review. On illegal mining, the government has procured hundred (100) Gold Katcha machines to prevent the usage of mercury by small scale miners and also help to attract 90% of the threshold out of the ore processed by these miners. This will help bring some life and confidence in their operations. The Government in its actions to step up the anti-galamsey drive has purchased five modern speedboats to patrol on water bodies within the<br>country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Health, he states emphatically that, the Munipality has benefited from a Government Hospital which is now completed and starded 24 hours\u2019 operation, also the following Health Centers in the Municipality are now providing full 4D ultrasound services; Himan Health Center, Awudua<br>Health center, Aboso Health Center, Huni Valley Health Center, Bogoso Health Center. Theunder listed Health centers are providing full laboratory services; Bogoso Health Center, Aboso Health and other areas, just to mention few.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Water and sanitation, he said that, cleanliness is next to godliness. However, you will agree with me that sanitation is one of the major challenges of this country and Prestea- Huni Valley is no exception. The evidence of chocked gutters, unclean environment on the streets and other public places in our Municipality confirms this fact. The assembly\u2019s Water and Sanitation<br>Management Team held a public sensitization on World water day at oyeeman and Asomdwee FM stations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Education, he explained to the house that, education is a key to the development of all facets of life, therefore, it is the need for government continues investment in education to produce the needed human resources to drive the course of our National Development.<br>It is in this vein that the government is supporting needy but brilliant students through the scholarship secretariat Which has been decentralized to benefit students from the peripheries. The Assembly has awarded scholarship to fifty (50) in the Municipality with an amount of<br>Seventy-Four Thousand and Thirty-One Ghana Cedis (GH\u20b574,031.00) and sponsored Regional 66 th Independence Day Quiz, again Supported seven (7) students to partake in the AIRTAD and Robotics Competition held in Accra Digital Center. The Yamoransa Lab from Bogoso chalked the<br>following successes;<br>\uf0b7 Placed 3 rd for National Best Innovation.<br>\uf0b7 Placed 5 th for National Robotics Competition.<br>\uf0b7 Placed 1 st As National Best Lab Manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He again highlighted on the construction of some school buildings and other facilities for the sector which includes; Construction of 1No. storey office complex for Education Health and other department at Bogoso, construction of 1No. 3unit class room block with ancillary facility at Awudua Nkwanta, construction of 1No. 6unit class room block at Broni Nkwanta, construction of 1No. 2unit Teaching Staff Quarters at Bandaho etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other side of Agriculture, he notified the house that, 275 famers have been registered towards the Oil Palm, Coconut and Para Rubber free seedlings distribution under the Planting for Export and Rural Development (PERD) initiative.
