The Prestea-Huni Valley Municipal Assembly headed by Dr. Isaac Dasmani on Wednesday 1st September 2021 handed over Forty-Seven (47) motorbikes to assembly members within its jurisdiction. Hon. Dasmani handed over the supreme star motorbikes in a symbolic ceremony to the elected and appointed assembly members at the forecourt of the assembly.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Dasmani said that the move was part of the government’s measures to ease the movement of assembly members in their respective electoral areas. He added that it will also help them to access hard-to-reach areas. The MCE appealed to assembly members to desist from selling the motorbikes but to rather use them for their intended purpose. He gave each assembly member 50 cedis worth of fuel to enable them to move their bikes to their various destinations. Finally, he stressed on the dangers of drunk driving and cautioned them to desist from it.

Receiving the bikes on behalf of the assembly members, Mr. Francis Asmah who doubles as the Presiding Member and Assemblymember for Mbease Bondye, lauded the government for the initiative. He was optimistic that the motorbikes will ease mobility and also grant easy access to extremely remote areas within the Municipality. Lastly, he urged them to use the bikes to the benefit of the assembly.

Hon Masawudu Mohammed, the assemblyman for Akutuase electoral area, encouraged those who do not know how to ride to get trained before they attempt to ride it. He also appealed to the MCE to register the motors for them
