On Tuesday, 18th of January, 2022 the Municipal Chief Executive for Prestea Huni Valley Hon Isaac Dasmani(Ph.D.) broke grounds for the reconstruction of a deplorable steel bridge that linked Ankobra town to the Himan community within the enclave of Prestea Huni Valley Municipality. The Steel Bridge entailing elevated walkway is awarded to Scnider construction and Trading limited. It is expected to be completed in Nine months duration as disclosed by the contractor Mr. Kwaku Sarfo Kantanka
Addressing the gathering, Hon.Dasmani(Ph.D.) hailed the immediate past Member of Parliament for Prestea Huni valley Constituency and the current Board Chairperson for the minerals Hon. Barbara Oteng-Gyasi for Lobbying for the steal bridge to augment the sinohydro project that has seen Himan inner-city roads being tarred. He thanked her for the effort and support for the construction to come to a reality.
He elaborated further that the project is a collaboration between the government of the Czech Republic and the Government of Ghana thru the ministry of roads and Highway. The cost of funding is about 5million Ghana cedis. The MCE again thanked His Excellency the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufu Addo and The NPP government for the project.
Hon. Dasmani continued to express his gratitude to NPP executives and supporters from Prestea and Himan who came in their numbers to grace the occasion. Addressing the community members, the divisional chief of Himan-Prestea Area Nana Nteboah Prah IV applauded MCE for his dedication to the project and entreated the good people of Himan-Prestea to cooperate with the contractor to undertake expeditious work. The Member of Parliament Hon. Robert Wisdom Cudjoe who was invited by the assembly to support the sod-cutting ceremony urged the community to cooperate with the constructor.
