The Municipal Chief Executive of Prestea Huni-Valley Municipal Dr. Isaac Dasmani out of his philanthropist nature has donated 30 hexagonal tables, 4 teachers’ tables, and chairs, 600 school uniforms, and 180 student chairs to some selected schools in his catchment area. The set of furniture was given to the Bondye MA Kindergarten and Bondye Methodist kindergarten schools. Pupils in Bondye MA, Bondye Methodist, and Mbease Nsuta MA schools received school uniforms.
Speaking to the media the M.C.E stated that being a resident of Bondye he was not happy when he was informed that the K.G children did not have chairs to sit on. He, therefore, used his own money to get a set of chairs and tables for them. He was optimistic that the furniture will go a long way to reducing the furniture deficit in the municipality.
He hoped it will make the student feel comfortable at school and this will help them to focus on what is being fought. He urged the management of the school to take good care of the furniture. He assured them that the assembly was acquiring additional chairs for the schools within Municipality.
Receiving the items on behalf of the school the municipal director of education Mrs. Mary Vida Kwofie expressed gratitude to the M.C.E for his kind gesture and gave the assurance that the schools will take good care of the furniture.
She added that most of the school children who were seen without the uniforms were exceedingly happy as it will go a long way to boost their confidence in class and also improve their writing skills. she also added that it will also reduce the pressure in the classroom as some pupils had to share desks.
