The Prestea Huni Valley Municipal Assembly on Friday 14th January 2022 commissioned an ultra-modern CHPS compound with residence and ancillary facilities at Insu-siding. The project is part of the Ministry of Special Development initiatives (MSDI) infrastructure for the poverty eradication program (IPEP). Addressing the gathering, Hon. Isaac Dasmani (Ph.D.) entreated the people of Insu – siding to consider the CHPS compound as the first point of call when they are sick or want to seek medical care. He added that this will help the health directorate to identify the major health challenges facing the area to address them appropriately. This will also help to get adequate resources to support the facility, he added.

Dr. Dasmani added that the facility is fully equipped to ensure that as soon as the commissioning is over health delivery can commence. He took the opportunity to encourage the people to go for their Covid Jab because the Covid case in the municipality is on the rise. He also appealed to them to keep the facility clean at all times and also seek assistance when they encounter any challenges in maintaining the facility. The former Member of Parliament and the Chairperson of the Minerals Commission Layer Mrs. Barbara Oteng Gyasi applauded the Coastal Development Fund and the Municipal Assembly for completing and equipping the facility. She added that it is the agenda of the current government to bring health care delivery to the doorsteps of its citizens thereby completing such a project.

The chief of Insu – Siding Nana Gyarkwan Ogyemang thanked the formal MCE Hon. Mozart Kwaku Owuh, the Municipal Assembly and formal MP Hon. Barbara Oteng Gyasi, for helping them get a new CHPS compound. Nana also pleaded with the Health director to assist the facility to gain accreditation for the health insurance scheme. Municipal Health Director, Mr. Sapson Kwame Joseph expressed gratitude to the Municipal Assembly for helping them to get a new CHPS compound to boost health care delivery in the Municipality.
