The Municipal Director of Education for Prestea Huni Valley Municipal Education Directorate Mr. Sabastian Atremah Diaw has disclosed that Four Thousand Four Hundred and Thirty-Five candidates have registered for the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Prestea Huni Valley Municipality. He said this when he joined the Municipal Chief Executive for monitoring the examination centers. Two Thousand One Hundred and Fifty are boys whilst Two Thousand Two Hundred and Eighty-
Five is girls, he added. According to the Director, the Examination was being written at fourteen (14) centers.

In the course of the monitoring, it was discovered that twenty-four (24) of the students were pregnant while nine (9) of them were nursing mothers. Forty (49) of the candidates were absent of which one was said to be dead.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Prestea Huni Valley Municipality, Hon. Isaac Dasmani (PhD) wished the candidates all the best and encouraged them to put up their best so that they could benefit from the free SHS policy. He added that they have a brighter future and with the education, they could be responsible people in the future to lift high the image of the Municipality. He stressed that they should try their best to pass their Maths, English, and Science as it is the prerequisite requirement for admission to the next stage of academia.
