The National youth authority, Prestea Huni–Valley Municipal assembly in collaboration with volunteer groups observed the international volunteer Day. This celebration was dubbed nationally as the National Community Service Week under the theme Empowering Communities strengthening lives: Together we Volunteer on Saturday 9th December, 2023. The Directorate of National Youth Authority in the Prestea Huni- Valley Municipal Assembly seizes this opportunity to organized a clean-up exercise with the volunteer groups aimed at cleaning the environment and inculcating the behavior of cleanliness in the Aboso health center
The major exercises were sweeping, weeding, distilling of choked gutters, disposal and burning of refuse. The volunteers were offered gloves, boots, and nose masks for protection. Also, cutlasses, rakes, brooms, shovels and wheelbarrows were all provided for the exercise ton ensure it was done effectively without any health problems.
Ending the exercise, the Municipal National Youth Authority Director Mrs. Marian Acquah commended the volunteers’ groups who made it to the program and made it clear to them about the authority’s numerous efforts to make the various recognized volunteer groups a vibrant one for the benefit its members and added that, a clean environment breeds healthy people and urged all present to make it a habit to always to clean their surroundings.
The Head and in charge of Abosso Health Center madam Susan show her appreciation to the authority and volunteer group for bringing such an exercise to her backyard, she then thanks them and assured them of the facility’s effort to help maintain good health for the good people of Aboso and its environs.
