PRESTEA HUNI VALLEY MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY REACTIVATES ITS ELECTION SECURITY TASK FORCE

In a move to guarantee free and fair elections, the Prestea Huni Valley Municipal Assembly has
reactivated it Election Security Task Force. This initiative, aims to bolster the integrity and security of the electoral process in the Municipality.

The newly formed Task Force comprises key stakeholders, including the Coordinating Director, National
Investigation Bureau, Fire Service, Ambulance Service, the Police, Electoral Commission (EC), Prisons
Service, Immigration, National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), and the Information Services
Department (ISD).

In a statement, Chief Superintendent of Police Williams Jabialu, the Police Commander for Prestea
emphasized the critical roles each member organization will play. The NCCE, ISD and the EC are tasked
with ensuring that all election-related communications are clear, accurate, and effectively disseminated to the public. This measure is intended to promote transparency and keep the electorate well-informed throughout the election period.

Meanwhile, the Security Agencies and the Electoral Commission bear the primary responsibility for
maintaining the integrity of the election process. Their duties include safeguarding the ballot papers and ensuring that voting proceeds without incidents, thereby fostering a peaceful and orderly environment for all voters.

The formation of this Task Force reflects the Assembly's unwavering commitment to upholding
democratic principles and ensuring that the upcoming elections are conducted in a manner that is both
fair and secure. This collaborative effort will address potential challenges and reinforce the trust the citizens in the electoral system.

As election day approaches, the Task Force is expected to coordinate closely, implementing strategic
measures to prevent any form of electoral malfeasance and responding swiftly to any issues that may
arise.

The Prestea Huni Valley Municipal Assembly urges all citizens to cooperate with the Task Force and
participate actively in the democratic process, ensuring their voices are heard in a free and fair election.
